I have spent a lot of 2023 filling sketchbooks, drawing almost every day, sometimes just quick 5 minute drawings, sometimes longer. When I have been able, I have taken my sketchbook out and about to draw on location, when that hasn't been possible I have drawn from photo reference.

I have found that this has become an essential part of my creative process.

I work in a variety of ways, but all my work begins with doodles and sketches using pencil and paper.

I particularly love mixed media and collage, using hand painted and recycled papers which are embellished with textures, patterns and decorative details. Often these are developed further digitally using either Procreate or Photoshop. I love the possibilities that working across these two different disciplines brings.
